Across Uganda, many orphans and children living with disabilities in designated homes face daily struggles that extend far beyond shelter and basic needs. These young individuals full of untapped potential often lack access to vocational training, soft skills, and digital literacy opportunities that could empower them to become self-reliant, innovative, and productive members of society. Without the tools to develop their talents, many transition out of care systems with limited prospects, unprepared for the demands of the modern world.
For children and youth with disabilities, the challenges are even more profound. Many live without access to essential assistive devices and medical equipment that would improve their quality of life and ability to learn. As a result, their aspirations are stifled, and their talents remain hidden in silence.
This program seeks to change that narrative to transform these homes into centers of hope, learning, and innovation. We aim to:
- Partner with selected orphanages and homes for children with disabilities to deliver practical vocational training programs
- Equip youth with soft skills and digital competencies that prepare them for the job market or entrepreneurial ventures
- Provide ICT tools and innovation kits, including laptops, tablets, and creative learning materials.
- Offer essential medical equipment and assistive devices to children living with disabilities
- Create inclusive learning spaces where all children, regardless of their background or ability, can thrive and be inspired
